L5R Card – Aka Beko
Aka Beko from the L5R set Seeds of Decay. This piece shows a Rokugan child holding a good luck toy. Legend has it that the toy can ward off disease. This is based on a real Japanese legend. If you want to read more about it CLICK HERE.
Fun fact, my daughter posed for the piece. At the time she was 20 months old. I took about a hundred photos in order to capture the moment, but I ended up using the first photo I took. My wife has a carabao statue (Filipino cow) and when I gave it to my daughter the first thing she did was clutch it to her like a doll. It just looked so sweet and innocent that it ended up being stronger than any photo where I tried to pose her.
