Digital Demons (and Orcs, and Undead)

With the success of Eagle Games Defenders of the Realm Kickstarter I was asked to design a new Demon General and do color versions of all the Generals. You can see my previous posts for Defenders of the Realm here: Orcs, Undead, and Demons & Dragonkin.

Due to the nature of the project I needed to work digitally. It was a little intimidating going back to digital, but I knew it would be hard to mess up. Five years ago I started my foray into illustration working digitally. I switched to oil paint back in 2009, and haven’t looked back. I do sketch digitally and make changes digitally as I need for my clients, but this would be the first project I completed digitally in years. I enjoyed a lot of the process, but found my eyes got tired very quickly. All in all, it worked out fine!

Here’s how the three Generals turned out:

I’m sure I’ll work digitally again at some point, but in the mean time, I got some painting to do!
